Ronnie did storyboard work for the Batman animated series, and worked for Neal Adams for a time. While with Dreamworks, he was story artist for "The Prince of Egypt" and other animated blockbusters. Ronnie has created some very memorable and striking works such as the great "The Harley & the Ivy" story for the critically-acclaimed Batman Holiday Special (1995), Mondo books for Dark Horse (1998), and most recently "The Bet", a black and white backup story in Batman: Gotham Knights #14 (April 2001).

Ronnie gives credit to Bruce Timm and other artist friends for both opportunities and support for his work. After working for Dreamworks, Ronnie joined the Pixar crew. Regarding "Birds of a feather", episode #47 of the Batman animated series and one of many episodes that Ronnie storyboarded, Producer Bruce Timm credited Ronnie Del Carmen with the show's affecting characterizations. "He is the star of the show," said Timm. "Ronnie put a lot of time and effort into acting out the storyboard poses. He's the one that made that episode special. All the acting bits that the Penguin does throughout are due to Ronnie. He thought all of that out." It is exactly these affecting characterizations that shine on all of Ronnie's work to date, as the images below illustrate (literally!).
